Cure NDD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to accelerating research and finding cures for neurodevelopmental disorders. The Consortium for Understanding, Research, and Education in X-linked Neurodevelopmental Disorders (Cure-NDD) unites researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, and families worldwide to accelerate scientific discovery, share knowledge, and advance innovative therapies.
The Role This remote volunteer leadership role works closely with the Founder/CEO to guide the Executive Board and advance CureNDD’s strategic plan and mission. We are seeking dedicated, high-impact leaders to provide strategic oversight, govern our mission-critical initiatives, and ensure long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Developmen
Support nonprofit fundraising, development, or philanthropic strategy, including direct involvement with major gift campaigns, grant writing, etc.
Strategic Oversight
Collaborate with the Founder/CEO to review program progress and approve annual budgets.
Advocacy
Act as an ambassador for CureNDD.org within the scientific and donor communities.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Educational Background:

A clinical or research doctorate (e.g., MD, DNP, PharmD, PhD, EdD, DrPH) is strongly encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidates with a master’s degree and relevant experience will be considered.

Professional Expertise:

Meaningful experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or philanthropic strategy, including direct involvement with major gift campaigns, capital campaigns, grant writing, or planned giving.

Scientific & Clinical Expertise:

Experience in rare disease research, specifically within laboratory or clinical environments.

Specialized Skills:

Licensed attorneys or accountants are highly encouraged to apply to assist with governance and fiscal oversight.

Lived Experience:

A personal connection to a child with a neurodevelopment disorder and a passion for medical research.

Commitment & Expectations

Term:

This is a 2-year term commitment.

Time Commitment:

Approximately 2–4 hours per month. This includes preparing for and attending four (4) board meetings per year, committee service, and occasional outreach activities.

Compensation:

This is a volunteer position; there is no financial salary.

Travel:

While remote, CureNDD.org will reimburse all pre-approved, reasonable travel expenses for any in-person meetings or site visits.
